Anse complaint restart development project Forest Princess-Atamaría (20/12/2013)

The Southeastern Association of Naturalists has sent a letter to the Department of Environment under the consultation phase of the process of environmental impact assessment to show their opposition to the Partial Plan "Princess".

This project aims to develop promoted by Inmogolf valuable forest area with sabina mora (Tetraclinis articulata) and other habitats of Community interest that is immediately adjacent to the Regional Park Calblanque, Mount of Ash and Eagle Rock.

Anse announces that take all the measures in the legislation to prevent irreparable environmental damage.

The Southeastern Association of Naturalists has sent a letter to the Department of Environment under the initiation phase of consultations and Environmental Impact Assessment Sector Plan Partial SPR1 "Princess" in the municipality of Cartagena.

This development project began in 1995, when through the Plan for Natural Resources, about 200,000 m2 were excluded from the scope of the Act declared 4/92 Regional Park along with the 9 hole golf course west illegally executed Inmogolf 1991.

In 1991, members of Anse had paralyzed the machines illegally plowed forest and ancient cultures Chaise Huerta to finish the third golf course of La Manga Club, which was later legalized by the region.

The Association warned and then subsequently intends to develop the environment of the golf course.

Since then, Anse is showing its frontal opposition to the project on the ground that will affect an area of extraordinary environmental values and will have negative effects on the Regional Park and the location immediately adjacent Community Importance.

Furthermore, Anse believes these lands should have remained within the Regional Park and part of the Site of Community Importance, as recognized by a report from the University of Murcia in 2004 by researchers prepared teachers.

In this regard, the recent decision of the Constitutional Court in relation to projected Marina de Cope serious doubts about whether the PORN is a valid modification of the boundaries of a Regional Park or instrument on the contrary, the scope of the Partial Plan Princess would remain part of the Park from the legal point of view.

Furthermore, Anse want to remember that the area has suffered repeated forest fires, apparently caused, in recent decades, one in the 90s of last century, most recently in August 2011.

Even the Autonomous Community has voiced opposition to the urban development of the area.

Thus, a report of 2005 signed four technicians then Directorate General of the Environment concluded that, "... given the negative condition that this Partial Plan is on the proposed Regional Park and LIC" Calblanque, Eagle Rock and Mount of Ashes, "Habitats of Community Interest classified as" Priority "and" Very Rare "and protected species of flora and fauna, and since the modification of the General Plan of Cartagena which classified these areas as developable was not subjected to evaluation of Environmental Impact estimates convenient Partial Plan is subjected to an "evaluation of their impact", which should fit into the framework of a process of Environmental Impact Assessment. "

More recently, in the context of EAE PGMO of Cartagena, the Directorate General of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity produced a report on Phase Information and inquiries in which I said the following: "BUILDING LAND AND ORCHARD OF Atamaria gigs.

In the environment of the Garden Spot of lime (SUES-SPR1) has established a range of about 30 meters classified as General Open Space System (SGEL, 121).

This strip should be extended to incorporate the areas where natural vegetation exists.

(...) The General Systems corresponding to forest soil and habitats of Community interest should be classified as General Protection Natural Systems. "

Almost all of the area retains natural vegetation, except those occupied by the golf course areas.
