The Polytechnic University of Cartagena save 60,000 euros a year in electricity to the partial closure of rental buildings (20/12/2013)

The Polytechnic University of Cartagena leverage the semester not because of the Christmas holidays to save on energy supplies, security and cleaning with the partial closure of buildings which begins this Saturday, December 21 and will run until Monday, January 6th.

During this period, essential facilities are available and used by students and researchers.

Thus, the library's Wall Campus is open Monday through Friday in the range from 8 am to 14.30 pm and will feature the ability to expand their classrooms enabling heated seats up to 430 people study if necessary.

Also open at the same time tomorrow the Chancellor and critical infrastructure for research in the School of Agricultural and building R & D + i will remain operational.

The Registry, located on the ground floor of the Senate, will be open from 9:00 to 14:00.

The residence halls and other buildings will be closed and no air conditioning.

The program of partial closure of buildings during the holiday periods of Christmas, Easter and summer is one of the measures of the austerity plan of the University to reduce costs and can reduce energy bills by about 60,000 per year, according to estimates the Vice President for Infrastructure and Sustainability.
