The UPCT drives the audiovisual sector with the creation of a center to develop educational videos deliver R & D and training professionals (13/12/2013)

The Governing Council of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) today approved the creation of a Centre for Digital Content Production which will be launched this same academic year, to provide the university community and society in general building digital content in audiovisual and multimedia format and especially oriented virtual teaching.

The Center for Digital Content Production UPCT financed Banco Santander, through its Santander Universities Global Division, and depends on the Vice President for Information Technology and Communications, is intended as a support for the digital industry audiovisual content, through both technology transfer and training activities and professional specialization.

The Centre, which will be implemented in three phases between 2014 and 2016, will enhance the development of digital content UPCT been doing in recent years, while open a path of opportunities for audiovisual industries as platform I + D + i.

Between audiovisual works and makes Cartagena Polytechnic are the Communication Service video news, recording and hosting online conferences and academic activities and 'polivideos', with which teachers explain in audiovisual format the contents of their subjects to students.

Located on the second floor of Building Research Laboratories and Teaching (ELDI), the Center for Digital Content available almost 300 m2equipados with recording set, set phrase, control room, two rooms dedicated to the generation and recording of Contents for teaching, post room, laboratory research into new forms of digital content generation laboratory prototypes and virtual marketing department and advertising, among other spaces.

"The main objective of the Centre for Digital Content Production is to spread the use of multimedia tools in the university community and train future professionals, able to generate content whose visibility transcends academia," says Juan Luis Pedroza, Vice Chancellor for Information Technology and Communications.

Pedreño confident that the Center "will increase the number of accessible multimedia content both from the Digital Repository UPCT as from the general means of publication on the internet like YouTube, access to teachers and students will be provided with the tools to generate audiovisual content and contribute to the development of information society in the Region of Murcia, creating new opportunities for the sector. "
