More than 200 people will participate in Cartagena at a conference on education and youth employment (10/12/2013)

More than 200 people will participate the next 12 and 13 December in Cartagena in Regional Conference 'Building the Youth Guarantee.

A European bet for training and employment ', organized by the Ministry of Presidency in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Universities and Employment and the city of Cartagena.

The general director of the Prevention of Domestic Violence, Youth, Legal Protection and Juvenile Court, Verónica López, director of the Regional Employment and Training (SEF), Alejandro Zamora, and Councilman Area Employment, Industry, Youth, New Technology, Sports, Environment, Sustainable Development, Transport and Mobility of the City of Cartagena, Joaquín Segado, morning show (at 10:00 pm in the Ministry of Education, Universities and Employment avenue of Fame, 15) the regional conferences.

This meeting will focus on the draft European Youth Guarantee, which aims to raise awareness of the opportunities offered by the implementation of this new rights-based approach to public policy in education and youth employment.

The conference, to be held at the Faculty of Business at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, will enable a first approach to the concept of Youth Guarantee and analyze some of the precursors of the Youth Guarantee experiences in Europe as well as several pioneering initiatives are being designed in Spain.

Similarly, the role to be played by different actors involved in the implementation of a system of Youth Guarantee in the Region of Murcia and how to strengthen the cooperation network between agents will be addressed.

The conference will bring together technical Youth public and private sector members and technicians municipal departments and agencies with an impact on young people and youth.

This initiative, collected in the Youth Training Plan of the Directorate General for Prevention of Domestic Violence, Youth, Legal Protection and Reform Under the Presidential, aims to discuss, reflect and raise awareness on the situation of young people and their impact and social significance.

Youth Guarantee

The 'Youth Guarantee' is defined as the commitment of the government and the Public Employment Services to provide work experience, training or refresher courses to young people having lost their jobs or after completing its passage through the formal education system.

This measure seeks to ensure equal opportunities for youth in the labor market.

These initiatives and policies to provide resources and opportunities for young people through work experience, training or refresher courses for young people, enabling tackle the problem of youth unemployment.

In this sense, the city of Cartagena presented a draft Youth Guarantee to the European Commission, one of the chosen few initial projects to be performed in Spain.

To this end, the European Commission has approved a budget of 6,000 million euros, of which about 920 million would be earmarked for Spain in 2014.

In Spain the 'Youth Guarantee' EU apply in actions under the Strategy of Enterprise and Employment, recently promoted by the Government.
