Antonio Piñana take place in Cartagena (29/11/2013)

Coinciding with the commemoration of the centenary of his birth, the flamenco singer Antonio Cartagena Piñana Segado will name a place in his hometown.

Specifically, a public space at the Holy Trinity neighborhood, between the streets Gabriela Mistral, Miguel Hernandez and Ruben Dario, near the Conservatory of Music Professional Cartagena.

The act of nomination took place on Monday, December 2, at 13 hours, and will be chaired by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, along with spokesmen for local groups, the Councillor for Culture, Rosario Montero, who was the instructor of record honors and distinctions which unanimously approved the municipal council, and family of the honoree.

There will also be a large representation of the Flemish Piñana Antonio ENA p, promoter of the tribute.

With this nomination, the City joins the centennial celebrations, which have been held throughout the whole year round tables, performances, lectures and conferences around the figure and the legacy of this great artist , patriarch of a whole saga.

Antonio Piñana Segado, known in the world of flamenco Antonio Piñana father, was born in Cartagena January 16, 1913 and died in 1989.

Along with Antonio Grau Dauset for the city regained its flamenco songs, mainly Cartagenera.

Throughout his artistic life he received numerous awards.

He won the first mining lamp Festival del Cante de las Minas de La Union in 1961, it has received gold badges numerous Flemish institutions and, as a legacy, has left recorded sixteen styles that are known in the world of flamenco as First Songs Cartagena.
