American Female voices and rhythms in Ecuador the Cartagena Jazz Festival (18/11/2013)

The third weekend of the 33rd edition of the Cartagena Jazz Festival started the Friday 15 in the Auditorium and Congress Palace El Batel with two female voices, Luciana Souza Madeleine Peyroux, the latter was accompanied on stage by his band and a Strings section of the Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia.

Souza, first visiting Cartagena, came to town with their last two albums, The Book of Chet and Duet III in the trilogy dedicated to traditional songs from his native Brazil.

Behind her, the shift was Madeleine who presented his seventh album, The Blue Room and, in addition to honoring Modern sounds in country and western music, delighted the audience with other parts of the header composers like Leonard Cohen and Randy Newman.

On Aug. 16, in Ecuador in this edition, the music moved to New Theatre Circus which was dominated by American rhythms Josh Rouse and James Hunter.

The former Valencia resident since 2006, reveals The Happiness Waltz, his tenth album, after three decades uploaded to the stage.

The show continued with the soul and R & B of the British James Hunter and songs Minute by Minute.
