Cartagena hosts for the third year the Championship of Spain for the intellectually disabled Petanque (25/09/2013)

Primi Sports Association Sport, along with the Spanish Federation of Intellectual Disability and Disability Federation of the Region of Murcia, organized for the third year Petanque Championship Spain for people with intellectual disabilities, to be held at the sports Antonares Park in the Pearl District from 27 to 29 September to coincide with the biggest weekend of the Festival of Carthaginians and Romans.

The Department of Sports and Tourism of the City of Cartagena, collaborate with this event, today presented the mayor of sports, Diego Ortega and Sport Primi president, Jose Moreno.

In the championship teams from 15 clubs participate, from Almería, Jaén, Sevilla, Asturias, Teruel, Madrid, Palma de Mallorca, Molina de Segura and Lorca, Cartagena as well, which will mean about 150 people, accompanied by family members, will benefit we in parties to visit the city and learn about its history, noted Moreno, who also emphasized the fact that this figure represents a 50 percent more participants than last year.

The goal of the championship is to introduce and empower people with intellectual disabilities in the world of sport, namely bowls, it does not require great physical effort but provides the habit of sport.

The technical organization and management of the competition, will be borne by the Federation of Petanque in the Region of Murcia, while Petanque Club Los Barreros, also contribute their bit with volunteers who collaborate in a special way.

PRIMI TURNS 10 YEARS SPORT

About to celebrate its tenth anniversary, Primi Sport Club Sport, who was born on December 3, 2003 amid concerns of a group of parents of school Special Education Early Lopez, already thinking about the organization of other major events.

This applies to football competition to be held in November for five days, and which, as announced José Moreno, is scheduled to attend 400 to 500 athletes, accompanied by their families, trying to promote this adapted sports in the city, and we are doing as the number of entries is increasing year after year.
