The UPCT begins today with all the new course studies adapted to Europe (23/09/2013)

More than 7,000 students begin today, Monday, the academic centers of the University of Cartagena.

Two key developments: the course starts with all studies adapted to the European Higher Education Area and the entry into force of the new regulation Progress and Permanence.

The new regulation allows, in certain cases, students may take fewer than 60 credits from the first year, according to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, José Luis Muñoz Lozano.

Thanks to this new figure, the student is officially recognized have other occupations and can not devote 100% of their time studying.

The new law regulates student progress throughout the degree.

This could benefit elite athletes, people with work activity, student representation play work, disability or family responsibilities, such as having young children or dependents.

The new regulation does not affect students enrolled in fighting titles, which continue to be governed by the rules of 2006.

Shall apply to all new students and master degree and the rest can apply governed by the previous law.

"If requested, shall be governed by the new," says the Vice Chancellor.

The 17 year UPCT offers undergraduate courses.

The training comes complete with fifteen official master and own various titles related to engineering and business management.

Although classes have started today, UPCT enrollment is open until October.

The reopening of classrooms in the first school day of the course is proceeding normally, according to the Vice Chancellor.
