The Social Care Councillor, Antonio Calderon, said that the city of Cartagena intended the same amount of money this year than in the previous year, organizations and groups working in the social field of the municipality.
That amount totaled in 2012 a total of 422,000 euros between grants and subsidies, the same money that counts this year.
Calderon responds to the UPyD unsubstantiated allegations about a 50% of the aid.
The Social Care Councillor said that this year has improved the grant award procedure so that the groups that routinely give social benefits to the needy directly receives subsidies and not pass through the system competitive basis.
Calderon believes that this procedure is "much more flexible and allows these organizations have the most immediate aid them greatly facilitates their work."
Among these groups are Caritas Good Samaritan Food Bank and Hospitality Easter.
