Bikes in Cartagena (22/08/2013)

Navarro (Local Police Criminologist) |

More and more motorcycles and mopeds in circulation, especially in cities, where they offer an easy solution to the problems of traffic and parking, besides being a cheaper alternative to the car.

We often believe that a moped or a motorcycle is just a means of transportation, but sometimes tragedies can happen if you do not take the appropriate road safety measures.

The bike is part of my daily work as local police, and can say for sure that a slight carelessness can have bad consequences.

So in my opinion, you should take some preventive measures while ensuring greater security for own and other road users, leaving aside the styling or trends observed in the streets of Cartagena by motorists unconscious, as are for example not to wear a helmet for no muss, because how are you make initiatives May 2 resulting accidents involving a motorcyclist.

TIPS:

When circular two-wheeled vehicles must not ever forget that:

Beware intersections and roundabouts.

Always try to see and be seen.

Lanes properly used, especially in cities.

Frena safely.

Forward only if you and respects the safety distances.

Watch the weather.

The passenger can also help the driver.

Driving without headphones.

Always wear helmet and gloves.

I would not miss that all motorcycle and moped drivers, should always wear a helmet that is approved and properly fitted.

I say this because I often find many bikers wear the typical city "calimero" or "quitamultas", which is only approved for thru mopeds 50cc, and offer no security.

Failure to wear approved protective helmet is a violation of € 200 and the withdrawal of 3-point card.
