UPyD asks the mayor and the Port Authority to "stop out belly" (27/07/2013)

UPyD coordinator, Fulgencio Egea, wonders how such an ambitious project and presented with great fanfare has been in the ostracism of the Port Authority.

The importance of this market is not only purely economic but focuses largely on terrestrial traffic congestion in the transport of goods and the reduction of environmental impacts generated.

We must open doors to one of the main drivers of our economy and that has remained strong in these years of crisis.

The agricultural sector, the horticultural and agribusiness, now heavily specialized, deserve an effort to retry the constitution of the maritime connection between Melilla, Cartagena and Sete.

Egea recalls the importance of this sea highway because we talk of lower energy consumption, lower external costs such as accidents, pollution and gridlock, greater growth potential without saturation of infrastructure, improved communications and greater cohesion and viability of financial aid, and creation of direct and indirect employment that has been stolen from a city in dire need of job offers.

This initiative would be complementary to the major port of Cartagena projects but much less expensive and therefore more viable, since the funds had to have Marco Polo II program and grants TEN-E program aimed at the development of infrastructure, and that, so far we know nothing.

UPyD supports the initiatives of entrepreneurs to open international markets and boost their businesses, especially now that France will "lethargic" infrastructure investments, and, on the other hand, our region will be in a position hitherto marginal and discriminated against competition from northern ports.

"Entrepreneurs have begun to believe in Valcárcel or the PP and seek solutions to the internationalization of their businesses"

Egea has concluded demanding the involvement of all actors involved in foreign trade to resume the project of the motorways of the sea as an alternative to a broker that is only possible in the long term, and it could have been a breath of fresh air in the employment picture.
