The festival of the Cruces de Mayo is celebrated in many Spanish cities and regions around May 3.

Its origin is religious because it commemorates the day on which according to tradition was found the cross of Christ by Saint Helena, mother of Roman Emperor Constantine the Great.

But along with this religious origin, remains popular with dances and other cultural activities around the different streets and places where they settle crosses decorated with flowers and other reasons.

In Cartagena participate very actively in the celebration of Holy Week brotherhoods, with other entities and catering establishments.
