The Sea of ​​Music sounds more this year in Cartagena (30/04/2013)

For the nineteenth edition of the festival, to be held between 19 and 27 July, 33 concerts are scheduled, five more than in 2012, only eight premieres in Spain, while tickets are already on sale

The musical program of the nineteenth edition of the Sea of Music , to be held in Cartagena from 19 to 27 July, was presented this morning at the Palace Hall.

The event was attended by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, the Councillor for Culture, Maria del Rosario Montero, director of the Repsol refinery in Cartagena, Juan Antonio Carrillo de Albornoz, the director of marketing for The Truth, José Manuel Jimenez Romera, and the director of the Sea of Music, Francisco Martin.

In the words of Barreiro, this festival, cultural reference in the month of July will not only nationally, but also in Europe, do not give up quality.

For this, we have programmed 33 concerts, five more than last year, of which only eight will be premieres and concerts in Spain.

THE FESTIVAL WILL BE ADDED TO THE GUA to REPSOL

Repsol, along with the newspaper La Verdad, are the sponsors of this edition.

During his appearance before the media, the director of the Repsol refinery in Cartagena, Juan Antonio Carrillo de Albornoz, has announced that the festival will be included in the Repsol Guide, with over two million users, as a tour proposal culture. Meanwhile, according to the director of marketing for The Truth, José Manuel Jiménez Romera, the festival will be distributed nationally and to be advertised in regional newspapers Vocento Group.

Also, The Night of Truth, will open the festival on 19 July with the stellar performance, unique in Spain, the Irish Sinead O'Connor & Her Band, who will present his latest work How about I Be Me (And You Be You)?

33 PREMIUM CONCERT

Before detailing the schedule of the XIX edition of the Sea of Music, the director, Francisco Martin, has highlighted the extreme thoroughness and quality live artists performing in Cartagena.

Along with Sinéad O'Connor, responsible for opening the festival, and the recognition of the work of Susana Baca, participate Arnaldo Antunes, Toumani Diabaté, Silvia Pérez Cruz, Ebo Taylor, Lucas Santtana, Buika, Gregory Porter, Antonio Zambujo, Imany, Explicit, Julia Holter, Eli Paperboy Reed, La Bien Querida, Julieta Venegas, La Mala Rodriguez and Javier Mena, among others.

Five scenarios will this latest edition: Auditorio Parque Torres, Castillo à rabe, Auditorium El Batel, the Cathedral, Town Hall Square and Paseo Alfonso XII, the latter two being free.

The Cathedral has a capacity of 300 people at the shows planned are the minority, but not the quality lessens.

All concerts will be from 21.30 hours and will cost ten euros.

The second of the spaces, the Town Hall Square where from Monday 22 to Saturday July 26 free performances are planned with the likes of Cumbia All Stars, rhythm Baildi Iman Greek or South African graupación sponsored BCUC SGAE and Africa House in VIS A VIS program.

Another free zones will be located on 24 July at the Paseo Alfonso XII (next to ARQVA), with the initiative The Open Bar La Mar which last year attracted more than six thousand people, and where the music never stopped sound from ten in the morning until two in the morning.
