The Local Police put 63 fines for dog feces in three months (11/04/2013)

The City of Cartagena crusade against dog poop littering streets and parks and are a nuisance to pedestrians, they begin to bear fruit through the work of a plainclothes unit of the local police.

Since last December, this special unit dedicated to the township monitor areas frequented by dogs and their owners, to check compliance with the bylaws of pets, mainly with regard to the collection of excreta and measures security to be taken.

So during the first quarter of 2013, plainclothes agents have enabled the processing by the Department of Health of 102 sanctions against the owners of the dogs, of which 61.7 per cent, or 63 fines were motivated not to collect road depositions pets.

For the rest of sanctions imposed for wearing loose 22 pets, 20 of which were considered dangerous breeds.

Another nine were imposed for possession of dangerous dogs without license and four precepctiva abandonment or other causes.

As a fact to keep in mind, in 2012 the number of sanctions from control dogs was 44, a figure that has been largely superseded in just the first three months of this year 2013, thanks to this undercover police unit.

Since it went into operation in December last year, and 146 fines are already processed, noting that penalties for dog feces on the street from 30 to 300 euros.

The work of this unit vigilacia is general in all parks and city streets and neighborhoods, while focusing its activities in areas where there are more citizen complaints, as Benipila area and along the Greenway Neighborhood Peral.

WHAT DOES THE ORDINANCE
