Taxi drivers call for a rise in rates (05/04/2013)

The Local Government Board has agreed to submit to the Regional Board of the proposed update prices for taxi fares, requested by the Association of Workers in Cartagena sector and region.

As explained by the Councillor for Infrastructure and Transport, Francisco Espejo, this is a rise from the difficult situation in the sector, and increasing the number of work hours get enough income.

Mirror reminded that this is an increase similar to that proposed by the drivers of Murcia and forwarded by the City Council to the Board of prices because there is an agreement to keep prices similar to these services in Cartagena, Murcia and à eagles.

Rates were frozen since October 2011 and the proposed increases vary between concepts.

For example in day rates, proposed an increase of 16 cents in the minimum stroke of 3.40 to 3.56 euros and 8 cents flag fall, which would rise from 1.75 to 1.73 euros.

Every kilometer in urban areas would increase 4 cents, from 0.92 to 0.96.

The mileage on interurban roads would remain at 0.53.

For nightly rates, would rise from 23 cents in the minimum fare, which would rise from 4.70 to 4.93 euros and 10 cents flag fall, would increase from 2.30 to 2, 40 euros.

Every kilometer in town would pay 5 cents more expensive, would increase from 1.15 to 1.20 euros, while the rise would remain at 0.63 cents intercity mileage.

COLLECTOR FOR WASTEWATER HIGH ROCHE

The Local Government has given the green light by the Directorate General of Water for temporary connection of the pumping station sewage Roche in Cartagena sewerage network, while building a new pipeline to connect with sanitation La Union.

This workaround will prevent the frequent breakdowns that records the Roche facility, sometimes getting to be unable to raise the total wastewater.

The EBAR, despite belonging to the municipality of La Union, is physically located in the municipality of Cartagena, just 400 meters from the manifold that connects wineries with Media Legua and Cartagena, and a considerably higher elevation.

The Councillor for Infrastructure, Francisco Espejo, said that the investment will be around 58,000 euros and will be provided by the autonomous region.
