The Governing Board approved an expenditure of over 17 million for the maintenance of gardens for four years (25/03/2013)

The Local Government Committee this morning approved spending for the next multiannual necessary service maintenance contracts, cleaning and improving green spaces and maintenance of urban trees in the town of Cartagena.

This contract, the specifications must be approved shortly, will have a deadline of four years and a budget of 17.3 million euros.

The Councillor for Infrastructure and Services, Francisco Espejo, said that a contract is important not only for the amount and but also for what it represents, as it affects the conservation of public spaces in a tourist town, it must them in the best condition that citizens and visitors deserve.

With respect to the above contracting this service, dating from 2002, will pass the 246,000 meters square of green areas then the current 721,000 meters square, which triples the performance area.

Equally s and 25 percent increase in services to ensure proper maintenance and upkeep.

By contrast the bid price relative to 2002, increased only 11 percent.

To Francisco Espejo, this means, in relative terms, it will remain more green and provide more services with less money.

This new contract will run from 2013 to 2017.

The board has also approved this morning multiannual expenditure for procurement of infrastructure maintenance of the Colleges of Education and Primary Township, a lead time of four years and 2.8 million euro budget.
