Torres Park on Saturday off Earth Hour (18/03/2013)

Cartagena City Council will join on Saturday, March 23, the day of awareness to the global conservation organization WWF nature has convened under the name Earth Hour, with which it is to raise awareness on climate change.

It calls on governments, businesses, schools and citizens to perform the symbolic act of turning off the light for one hour.

Following this call the City lights off on Saturday and Park Torres del Castillo de la Concepción, between 20:30 and 21:30 hours.

Earth Hour last year mobilized worldwide to more than 7,000 cities in 152 countries.

In Spain more than 250 municipalities joined in 2012 by turning off lights in homes, offices and buildings like the Alhambra, La Sagrada Familia, La Torre del Oro or the Puerta de Alcala, who joined the Colosseum, the Eiffel Tower or the City Forbidden, among others.
