D'Genes attend to rare diseases in Cartagena (14/03/2013)

D'Genes, Rare Disease Association and other pervasive developmental disorders, today announced the opening of its new office in Cartagena, and has done so with the media, with the presence of the Councillor for Social Care, Antonio Calderon, association president, Juan Carrion, and responsible for the delegation Cartagena, Vagisil Lolian Angeles Vivancos and Mary Lozano Díaz.

As noted Carrion, from its headquarters in Cartagena, D'Genes establish an information and care to families living in the city of about a rare disease, with the idea of ​​maintaining agreements with medical professionals to the direct provision of care and services, such as, for example, physiotherapy, hydrotherapy or speech.

The first performance of this new delegation, stressed Angeles Maria Diaz, will make themselves known to reach as many people as possible.

For business meetings, the IES Jiménez de la Espada has given the partnership a classroom Wednesday afternoon, from 16.30 hours.

Furthermore, with the celebration on 28 February World Day of Rare Diseases, activities have been organized in schools in the municipality and, on Saturday March 16, an information table will be installed on the plaza of San Sebastián.

Genes D'born in 2008, in order to report on the needs of those affected by rare diseases (there are now over 7,000 such diseases) and to give direct care.

Today has 350 partners and offices in Mazarrón, Cehegín, Caravaca, Lorca and Murcia, which now joins the Cartagena.
