Cartagena Local Police Wednesday began the breathalyser test campaign that will run until March 12 and the effect providing around 150 preventive controls.
The campaign will run throughout the town and cover the entire time slot, both morning, noon and night.
In addition, effective shall emphasize in those roads that have the strongest traffic flow.
The objective of this action is to raise awareness among drivers that drinking and driving are not good companions, while ensuring safer roads in the city.
SPEED CONTROLS 125 FEBRUARY
In addition, last February the local city police conducted 125 speed controls to ensure that citizens respected the speed limits.
They were monitored on a total of 30,872 vehicles, of which 799 were reported to exceed the allowable flow rate.
Cartagena Local Police aims with these actions that drivers are aware that the wrong speed while driving increases the stopping distance and reaction time decreases, being the cause of many accidents.
