Nine troupes participate in Carnival Senior (07/02/2013)

The Municipal Hall Jiménez de la Espada open tomorrow Friday February 8 its doors to welcome, once again, the celebration of the Carnival of our elders.

Organized by the Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena and the Federation of Carnival, this year's edition will start at 17.00 hours, but participants will be met at 16.30.

Social Care Councilman, Antonio Calderon, will officially open the event, and also be one of the jury members with the Councillor of Celebration, Florentina Garcia, president of Carnival and Carnival Queens in 2011 and 2012.

After the formal events, parades start the contest that will feature nine groups that are detailed below:

- The Marine

Pirates in disguise (La Manga)

- Friendship disguise Kittens (Virgin of Charity)

- Youth and Joy with Western Fantasy costume (La Palma)

- The costume Salerosas with Musical Magazine (Miranda)

- Farmers in the guise Cooks (Santa Ana)

- Life in the guise Mowgli and bananas (Mills Marfagones)

- The friendly with the Japanese costume (San Jose Obrero)

- Aljorra Beauty with Carnival Fantasy costume (The Aljorra)

- Black Tulip Tribute to the costume Fofó (Los Belones)

Later, at 18.15 hours, begin the parade of Carnival 2013 Queens coming from the different troupes participating:

- La Manga: Farled Lucia Garrido

- Our Lady of Charity: Antonia Morales Andreu

- La Palma: Buendia Antonia Sanchez

- Miranda: Fina García Vera

- Santa Ana: Maria Dolores Ortiz Contreras

- Mills Marfagones: Pilar García Serrano

- St. Joseph the Worker: Maruja Ros Martinez

- The Aljorra: Isabel Garcia Garcia

- The Belones: Ana Hernandez Galián

The day will also feature the massive celebration dance Piñata and immediately be appointed to the Senior Carnival Queen 2013 and her ladies, while present awards to the different troupes.

To crown the Senior Carnival's scheduled a dance between these to be held around 20.00 hours.

Admission is free and groups, clubs and groups of seniors and can withdraw their invitations to the celebration of Carnival in the Municipal Hall of Jiménez de la Espada, Paseo Alfonso XIII, No. 4, 30201, Cartagena.
