Comenius Regio program promotes individualized instruction (25/01/2013)

Councillor for Education has been at the Palace Hall Norwegian teachers Comenius Regio European project that is working with the IES Jiménez de la Espada in búsqeuda new educational strategies

Councillor for Education of the City of Cartagena, Josefa Maroto, has received this morning Norwegian teachers Bjà ¸ region rgvin collaborating with IES Jiménez de la Espada in achieving the Comenius Regio program. The event attended by the project coordinators in the region of Murcia and the IES Jiménez de la Espada, Maria Luisa Lorente Churches and Flora, respectively.

At present, three educational institutions in the Region of Murcia participate in this program: CPR Cartagena, IES Jiménez de la Espada and the University of Murcia. The aim of this European method called, formative assessment (Assessment for Learning) is none other that learning educational strategies.

In the words of the coordinator Murcia, the idea is that the examination of student assessments in addition to the note, know where they have failed and how they can afford it.

In short, this is a more individualized instruction, giving prevalence to the needs of the student.

For its part, the coordinator of the center of Cartagena has emphasized that, although we still can not make a definitive assessment since the project began last October, yes we can say that the first result was positive and reassuring. And, on the last working session held in the day yesterday, empathy was important value because students were heard together and the errors corrected together.

For stays of four or five days, working not only with teachers, but also attends classes to observe the impact this approach has on students.

Upon receipt, the Norwegian teachers, who arrived on Wednesday January 16 and depart Saturday morning for their country, have done a tour of the Palace Hall.

The next meeting will be held at the Norwegian region during the first week of June, as confirmed by the project coordinator in the Region of Murcia, who also added that in recent years the community has been the best Murcia nationally as far as education is concerned European projects.
