On Thursday, San Anton celebrates the traditional blessing of animals (16/01/2013)

The neighborhood of San Antón Abad cartagenera held tomorrow, Thursday January 17, and as usual, the blessing of animals known to coincide with the feast of its patron.

The traditional meeting will be attended by the Mayor of the city, Pilar Barreiro, and other representatives of the Municipal Corporation.

The strong day of the holidays is presented with numerous activities that will start at 08.00 hours with the target flowered, sponsored by the Department of Celebration of the City of Cartagena. Later, at 11.00 hours will be held the solemn mass in honor Patron Saint.

The square of the Church will be the setting for the popular animal blessing at 12.00.

In addition, residents and visitors can enjoy the Grand Ball of Vermouth in the local office of the neighborhood, and will be entertained by the group Nakar.

The afternoon session will be led by the procession of the patron saint, from 18.00 hours, which will visit the most emblematic streets of the neighborhood of San Antón.

And to round off the great day of the holidays, from 18.30 hours, there is scheduled a n ew dance duo Nakar hand, in the clubhouse.

The official opening of the celebrations took place on Friday 11 January with the activities of Magic and comedy for children and costume party. During these days, the traditional dishes of octopus have flooded the streets of the neighborhood.

The festivities conclude on Sunday January 20 with the display of martial arts, paella solidarity with donation to the Good Samaritan and the closing dance in the social, organized by the pilgrims of San Antón.
