370,000 bulbs low power LEDs illuminate the Christmas, New Year and Epiphany in Cartagena.
The lights have begun to settle in different pedestrian streets of the Old Quarter and adjacent to Bethlehem Municipal Plaza de San Francisco, as reported by the Councillor for Festivities, Florentina Garcia Vargas.
For now the concessionaire Elecfes placed wires crossing public roads, which on Monday will start hanging the ornaments lights.
As explained by the Councillor, the Christmas lights will be similar to last year, although at a lower cost, since it has been awarded for 63,000 euros, 12,000 less than last year, and 30,000 fewer tender rate, set at 90,000 euros .
As last year, two handhold light Christmas trees: one 12 meters high, opposite the Palace Hall, and another nine meters in square Icue.
A big note this year, Florentina Garcia added, is that there will be more days and more hours of light without excessive rise in consumption bill, estimated at some 2,400 euros for all parties.
To encourage holiday shopping and the festive atmosphere, the lighting will light the main shopping streets of the Old Quarter on December 6, with a schedule, in principle reduced from 18 to 22 hours.
As of December 14 will turn the rest of the Christmas lights, and with a schedule of 18 to 24 hours (6 hours per day), which was maintained throughout Christmas, except Christmas, New Year and Twelfth Night, which will be extended to two in the morning.
Turning off all lighting will take place on Monday, January 7 at ten o'clock at night.
