Restore jobs of the rim of the Piton de los Burros in the Plaza of Spain, which began in early September, and have come to an end, according to the schedule, so he's back to show off your original image after removal of scaffolding and mesh covering and protecting the area.

This work, which was carried out by a team composed of two restaurateurs, a historian, a surveyor and a draftsman, consisted in cleaning the entire structure, placing two detached stone fragments and cracks are filled with a special mortar, that is also used to reinstate the central part.

It has also removed the concrete base, which was not the original stone and covered her, and replaced by brick.

Finally, it has been given protection to the stone.

The pylon of donkeys is a natural stone trough that was from the beginning, prior to 1593, near the entrances to the City.

Its purpose was to provide water to animals, mainly shooting, arriving or leaving Cartagena.

After passing through several areas in 1990 was restored and placed in its current location of the Plaza of Spain.
