The House approves the proposal of the PP to lower wages and eliminate extra councilors and officials (20/07/2012)

The full City Council has approved the Cartagena this morning, unanimously, cuts in the salaries of councilors, managers and staff confidence proposed by the Municipal People.

These measures, which will begin in August payrolls, will generate a saving of 170,000 euros in 2012, as reported by the popular spokesman, Francisco Espejo.

The Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, who has given up full compensation for attending, said that these decisions reflect the commitment to austerity is requiring that government and citizens.

The proposal involves the removal of extra pay for Christmas for councilors, managers and staff confidence, and a further 3% decline in the salaries of the Corporation and management positions.

In addition, attendance fees will be reduced by 8%.

Francisco Mirror during his speech defended the legitimacy of the remuneration received by councilors from all groups, recalled that the same compensation scheme that the mayor received the councilors have been accused several groups and demagoguery with which the opposition has treated this matter publicly.

The spokesman reminded all councilors of the United Left and the Socialist Party gave their vote for the creation of all the positions of their salaries in July last year.

"Four months later, the Socialist spokesman was asking for his removal and that is not consistent but demagoguery."

Among the popular proposals are approved by Parliament to urge the Government to reduce by 20% allocation to local political groups in the budgets of 2013.
