Hospitality Santa Teresa and the Good Samaritan are part of the Solidarity Network Food (04/06/2012)

Hospitality Santa Teresa de Cartagena and the Good Samaritan soup kitchen, also in Cartagena, were integrated last Friday at the Regional Food Solidarity Network, thanks to the efforts made ​​by the Councillor for Social Care, Antonio Calderon at the meeting remained with the General Pension Valuation and programs of the Autonomous Community Inclusion and enterprises and entities.

This network was launched two weeks ago by the Minister of Health and Social Policy, Maria Angeles Palacios, to manage food distribution of food and agriculture Murcian companies donate to organizations whose mission is to help people in precarious situations.

This project is open to all regional entities with the idea that all people in need receive food and no running out of food Murcia.

So far, the Solidarity Network comprised Association of Producers and Exporters of Fruits and Vegetables in the Region of Murcia (Proexport), the Federation of Agricultural Cooperatives of Murcia (FECOAM), the Association of Business and Food Canners of Murcia, Alicante and Albacete (Agrupal) and the Regional Federation of Employers of Transportation Murcia (FROET), which handles the distribution.

The meeting included representatives of the participating entities and CEO of Pension Program Evaluation and Social Inclusion, John Brown, who took stock of the 15 days of operation which has led to reach 20,000 kilos of food: 6,000 of non-perishable and 14,000 fruit, vegetables and vegetable organizations like Caritas, Jesus Forsaken, Hospitality Santa Teresa and the Good Samaritan, among others.

The aim of this network is the coordination between the entities receiving and Pensions Department, Assessment and Inclusion Programs to transfer needs with organizations that provide food, for which the administration provides the necessary technical personnel.

Calderon stressed the importance of inclusion of these two institutions Cartagena on the net, because through it l bequeath aid and much needed food donations at the time cirsis going through.
