Sunday is closed to traffic the port area on the occasion of Triathlon (31/05/2012)

As planned the local police, the interruption of passing vehicles in Alfonso XII will be ongoing throughout the morning, from start to finish of the event, and the rest of the tracks will be affected for the duration of the various tests

The Office of Local Police Traffic has prepared the device to control traffic access to the port on Sunday June 3, during the celebration of SERTRI, VII Triathlon City of Cartagena, popular sporting event which will run throughout morning and is expected to congregate in large numbers of people.

On this occasion, will be closed to traffic Alfonso XII Avenue permanently from the beginning to the end of the triathlon, 8 am to 2 pm and the other roads affected the duration of the tests.

Remember Triathlon consists of a swimming test, which poses no problem for traffic, a cycling and running.

With regard to the race bike, the first five tests cyclists will turn at the roundabout of the bus station, not surround the plaza, for which three fences placed as a separation of traffic.

Thus, vehicles coming from Cala Cortina, when possible, be diverted to the CT-33 and gain access to the interior city of Santa Lucia.

As for the cycling race is usually more complex, as are 3 laps of a circuit of about 20 km in which participants will be staggered and have to turn around before the first tunnel Cala Cortina, which the road from tailings will be cut off to traffic.

The third part, the run in the first five tests to be no problem for pedestrian area, but overall there will be other players at the crossroads of traffic routes such as University Road, Plaza of the Island and Gisbert Street exit.

A total of 9 officers and 12 volunteers will be responsible to control and monitor traffic throughout the area affected by the celebration of triathlon and its approaches, and placed 18 billboards and signs informing of changes in traffic direction and prohibitions of way.

SUNDAY CELEBRATIONS IN PORT

Besides SERTRI 2012, the port will host the Sunday of the celebration of Armed Forces Day, for which the Navy has prepared various activities such as guided tours of ships will be berthed at the cruise ship dock, or a statement of military equipment on the sea.

The schedule of ship visits will be from 10.00 to 13.30 and from 16.00 to 20.30, and the exhibition will be open from 10.00 to 20.30.
