Castles and batteries prepared for the Third Path Strengths (15/02/2012)

51 kilometers at a maximum of 12 hours, that is the challenge that it poses to the Third Path 3000 participants of the Strengths, military test civic non-competitive and supportive markedly, held April 21 through the joint efforts of Navy and City Hall.

So in the presentation of the event, have been the representatives of the estates involved, the principal Marine, Colonel Miguel Flores Bienert, and Council of Sports and Infrastructures, José Cabezos and Francisco Espejo, respectively.

Seamount has highlighted the route of the strengths, their virtue to bring out the rich history of Cartagena, its history and heritage, putting the city in just three years on the national map of major routes, while serving incentive for sports tourism.

In this sense, reminded the council of Sports of the 3,000 participants last year, 48 percent were from outside and most were accompanied.

For his part, Miguel Flores noted that in this edition, we have introduced new measures assuming the improvements proposed by the participants themselves to avoid mistakes made ​​in previous years.

The test, which this year has increased the participation fee (29 euros overall, 15 juvenile and 10 the children), is funded by the quota and the voluntary cooperation of companies and organizations in Cartagena.

In addition, it maintains its solidarity and that once covered all expenses, the excess revenue will be donated to charities of the city.

The registration period will open on March 10 at 10 am, and can be done through the website www.rutadelasfortalezas.es

It may participate in two forms, individual and teams of five components, the senior categories (male and female, 18 to 35 years), Veterans A (male and female, 36 to 49) and Veterans B (50 over).

The events surrounding the Forts Trail will begin on Friday April 20, with the delivery of numbers and qualifications in the harbor, next to Plaza Heroes of Cavite, 10.00 to 21.00 hours.

During the day and to set the mood, is also planned to install a digital exhibition of photographs of previous Tours, a fair of sports equipment companies, workshops knots and open house on a navy ship, ending these activities with a salvo of cannon Arsenal and lowering of flag.

GENERAL TEST

The output of the general test of the Forts Trail will take place at 8.00 am from Cavite Heroes Square, after the speech of the authorities, the hoot of a ship will be docked at the port.

The route will pass through the main strengths that surround the city, Mount Calvary, the Castillo de San Julian, Santa Florentina battery, Monte Despeñaperros, Castillo de la Concepción, Lighthouse Christmas Podadera battery, battery General Fajardo, Galeras, Castle Watchtower and Roland battery to reach the goal at the School of Marine (by the car door, rather than the principal) in Tentegorra, which will take place the trophy on 20.10 hours.

The novelty is that the climb to San Julian will be on the road this year, instead of around the bush, to avoid the crush that occurred on Route 2011.

About 400 people will make it possible to hold the race, which will have 9 points for supplies, 5 aid stations, 2 points of hydration, chemical toilets and food for participants at the end of the route, which will also feature, with the goal , activities for children, such as bouncy castles and Paintball.

The test does not include cash prizes, but a commemorative medal for all participants who finish the test certificate to the classification and measured time, which can be downloaded via the web and stock broker to pick up the race.

JUNIOR TEST

The output, at 10 am, and the goal will be in Cavite Heroes Square, with a distance of 12 kilometers which includes Mount Calvary and the Castillo de la Concepción, to be performed on up to three hours and average, while the awards ceremony scheduled at 13.00 hours.

May be up to 150 kids between 13 and 17 years, male and female categories and in addition to the individual category, may also participate in teams of five components among 16 to 17.

In the first three winners will receive a trophy.

CHILD PROOF

The last to exit, at 12.00, also from Cavite Heroes Square as the goal, will be the participants of the child test where they have established three age groups in male and female categories: 6 to 7 years, 8 to 9 years and 10 to 12 years.

This time will travel 2.7 kilometers, rising to Castillo de la Concepción, no time limit. At 13.00 hours prizes will be awarded a trophy to the winner by category and commemorative medal to all who complete the test .
