The lights Carnival Cartagena (08/02/2012)

Butterflies, masks and harlequins are some of the carnival grounds that adorn and illuminate the main streets of the city during the holidays that are already close.

From 11 to 21 February will be held on Carnival Cartagena, on this occasion, the Department of Celebration, through the Galician company Illuminations Umia, SL, is placing ornaments and give all that light will travel parade, and stay on the days that last the holidays to give room to the center.

Thus, in the Town Hall Square have been placed items as masks, on Main Street there are butterflies in the Plaza de San Sebastian, Doors of Murcia and Carmen Street harlequins with ornaments hanging side and the last part of the route, in Spain Square and Paseo Alfonso XIII, cat masks.

In addition, we are preparing a light cover of three arches with an allegory of a witch, stand in the Central Hall of Sports Guimbarda Wsell for 11 and 12 February, for acts of choice of Queen, proclamation and presentation of Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma.

This same front will move to the New Theatre Circus for 16 and 17 February, to illuminate the celebration Chirigotas Contest.

Following the guidelines of municipal energy efficiency and savings, all lamps used in these ornaments are bright LED technology.

In terms of cost, the City has saved this year by 20 percent over the previous, from 27,655 euros in 2011 to 21,240 euros this year.
