An international journal publishes on its front page an inorganic chemistry research UPCT (02/01/2012)

The British journal Dalton Transactions has published on its front page a work by the research group Industrial Applications and Chemistry of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena with researchers from the University of Murcia and the Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai (India).

Scientific publishing, specializing in inorganic chemistry and published by the Royal Society of Chemistry, is one of the highest rate of international impact.

The research proposes a simple chemical reaction to develop new catalysts used in the manufacture of high added value products, such as pharmaceuticals and cosmetics, says José Luis Serrano, responsible investigator.

The publication, "Bis (imidate) complexes of palladium (II) complexes with labile ligands precursors Mimetics ¿classics?" Has done over the past two years in collaboration with the research group of Bioinorganic Chemistry, University of Murcia and Research Insitituto of India.

The main contribution of this research is that "we have synthesized a compound similar to the precursors used in the chemistry of palladium, which have many applications in synthesis and catalysis, the reactions of Suzuki cross-coupling," says Serrano.

Dalton Transactions magazine publishes the most relevant research in inorganic chemistry at the international level.

The applications of the compounds developed in the work of researchers UPCT is a topic of great relevance today.

In fact, the development of palladium-catalyzed reactions led to Heck, Suzuki and Neghisi to get the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2010.
