Timeline of the windlass and vicinity (28/12/2011)

The Palace Hall, Heroes of Cavite, Cervantes House, Grand Hotel and the winches are buildings and sites representative of Cartagena.

Still, there are still unknown Cartagena origins.

It is for this reason that the Department of Tourism has organized a free guided tours of sites representing the city's history.

The first visit was this morning and the second will be Jan. 4. Fifty people, most of Cartagena, have joined today for an hour and half to the guide that has taught history and the occasional anecdote.

The route has left at 12 noon from the door of the Palace Tourist Office at the Casa Consistorial stopping Cervantes, the chapel of the brotherhood mako, the Grand Hotel, the Decumano, Plaza de San Francisco, built on part of Roman picture, and finally in the Archaeological Park of the windlass.

The guided tour of the latter site has been what has encouraged most of the visitors to join organized by tourism routes, as explained a few.

Once they arrived at the park, the guide has explained the origin of the excavations of the hill, which began in the 70's, but not until the 90's when archaeologists discovered the remains of structures and different times.

The works were some stoppages until its revival in 2010 with the Plan E.
