Úšltimos ladder touches on the Sea Wall (01/12/2011)

Those responsible for the reconstruction of this architectural element have completed work on the structure and this week carried out the concrete, leaving only the flooring and balustrade, which will be addressed after the bridge of the Constitution

The rehabilitation and reconstruction of the stairway of the wall of Charles III, in his section of the Sea Wall, are nearing completion and once the structure, the bulk of the work is finished and, from this week, will address the concrete and the latest details on the architectural element is accessed from the Paseo del Muelle at the top of the wall.

These latest actions, which will take place after the bridge of the Constitution, will focus on the balustrade and flooring, to be used for safe, sturdy materials, while respecting the original design of this work that made ​​the architect Victor Beltrí in 1914.

The rehabilitation project of the stairs of the Sea Wall, whose work began in August, were awarded by the City Council Pavasal SA company, with a budget of 161 085 and a deadline of four months.

The works, designed to address the weakening of the structure that was causing a lack of safe use of ladders, including the restoration of the rail, new rail of greater height, use of natural stone slabs and waterproofing stronger pavement .
