Games and sport to educate in the fellowship (07/11/2011)

Nearly a hundred children have lower primary kicked out of the XIII Olympiad children who have begun this morning in the sports hall of St. Lucia.

Have fun playing and learning are the goals of these Olympics to be held until Thursday, November 10, for schools Our Lady of the Sea, Hasdrubal and Hannibal of the Santa Lucia, The Campaign and Mateos.

The first children have enjoyed this morning with the usual games such as handkerchief, Tarzan, the American track, rings, relay race or the sack race.

In groups, have shared the games with their peers, teachers and various volunteer monitors who attended small throughout the morning, instilling values ​​such as teamwork, sportsmanship and fellowship.

The aim of these Olympics Children, who have been thirteen editions behind him, is to create a fun and coexistence among children from different neighborhoods.

With these games, teach respect and positive attitudes toward peers through sport, at the same time it encourages school children about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

At the same time, the activity is aimed at school districts with high risk of social exclusion, so that one of the objectives is to prevent an early age the possible behaviors that result in marginalization and exclusion of children and youth.

The Olympics are organized by the Municipal Social Services, in collaboration with the Department of Sports and Infrastructure, and the three participating schools, in addition to the IES Mediterranean and several corporate sponsors.
