Barreiro participate in today's parliamentary defense Mediterranean Corridor (17/10/2011)

Cartagena's mayor and head of the list of DB Murcia Congress of Deputies, Pilar Barreiro, will today Monday, October 17, at a meeting of parliamentary work in defense of the Mediterranean Corridor, organized by the Andalusian PP, which is underway in the city of Almeria.

With the title "Workshop in Defense of the Mediterranean Corridor," including representatives of the Popular Party in Catalonia, the Balearic Islands, Valencia, Murcia and Andalusia, with the aim of outlining a manifesto in defense of the Mediterranean Corridor, a strategic project for the Murcia, which multiply by twelve the number of rail freight transport in our region.

The program consists of exposing the vision of Europe on this corridor and the need for this infrastructure essential for economic growth and job creation that will benefit all Spanish.

In the afternoon, at 16:30 hours, the president's Party of the Region of Murcia, Ramón Luis Valcárcel participate alongside their counterparts Alicia Sánchez-Camacho, Jose Ramon Bauza, Javier Arenas Alberto Fabra and at the close of the day and the consensus reading of a manifesto in defense of the Mediterranean Corridor.

This adds to the numerous actions that have taken place in all regions in support of this infrastructure.

It should be remembered that in the Murcia Region, the Regional Assembly unanimously passed a motion to include the Corridor as a priority.

Also, the full City Council of Cartagena unanimously approved a joint statement in defense of the Mediterranean rail corridor, presented by the three municipal groups.
