The Roman Theatre and Puerto de Culturas open their doors to celebrate Hispanic Heritage (07/10/2011)

On the occasion of the celebration, on Wednesday 12 October, Columbus Day and the long bridge that will occur this holiday, the Roman Theatre in Cartagena will extend its hours and opening days, to provide the opportunity to visit the monument to those tourists who pass through the city.

This initiative also will implement other resorts of Cartagena Port of Cultures, like the Punic Wall, the Panoramic Lift, refugees from the Civil War and the Castillo de la Concepcion, which will open on Monday from 10.00 h to 14 30h and from 16.00 am to 19.30 hours, using the festival as well as reaching the port of Eclipse Celebrity cruise with 2852 passengers on board.

For its part, the Roman Theatre Museum will be open on 8, 9, 10 and 11 October from 10.00 am to 18.00 pm and the 12th from 10.00 to 14.00 h.

So, on Sunday 9 extends its hours from 14.00 to 18,00 h, and on Monday, normally closed, open from 10.00 to 18.00 h.

The attractiveness of the site and the building that receives, stems not only serve as exhibition of the collections framework, but it takes the visitor from the plaza to the inside of the monument.

The recovery project conducted by the architect Rafael Moneo is therefore a journey through time and route from the sea at high levels culminating in a visit with the appearance of the stands of the theater.

The tour lasts approximately 60 minutes and can be done for free, since the museum offers visitors a wealth of resources (panels, video, and interactive models) that allow the understanding of all parts and elements described .

It also has tours scheduled every hour, at no extra cost. For tours in languages ​​(English or French) must make a reservation by calling 968 50 00 93.

In addition, visitors who come to the museum can enjoy the temporary exhibition in the light of two cities, which shows the paintings of Pérez Casanova on Rome and Cartagena, two cities he admires, two cities that the artist illuminates, and the which is also illuminated.
