Expanding the cruise terminal will allow two boats docked at a time in the Port (27/07/2011)

The Minister of Public Works and Planning, Antonio Sevilla, and the president of the Port Authority of Cartagena, Adrian Viudes Angeles, accompanied by the Mayor, Pilar Barreiro, today inaugurated the extension of the cruise terminal at the Port of Cartagena , having also opened the nose of the dam extending southwest of the tailings.

Work on the cruise terminal have meant extending to about 500 meters total length of berth, will therefore allow the simultaneous presence of several ships on the same day.

They consist of a platform or dock 180 meters long and variable width, consisting of a steel pile structure, an open space of 2,000 square meters and two mooring berthing dolphins.

The works were completed with bollards, fenders, small installations of lighting and paving of the area.

With this, and taking into account the increase experienced for some time this part in the visits of cruise ships calling at the port, consolidate the objectives of urban development and tourism in the city.
