Cruisers take over from the Americans (10/06/2011)

Bars, terraces, commercial and downtown streets have continued to receive visitors during this time.

Six thousand Marines who flooded the city from Monday through Thursday, has taken over the nearly 1,200 cruise passengers have arrived in port this morning on board AIDAvita.

Taking advantage of good weather, tourists have traveled the most emblematic of the old town as Main Street, Town Hall Square and Teatro Romano, enjoying the sights and making their stops at the bars and shops.

As usual, at the foot of stairs have been received by an information booth where Puerto de Culturas been told the main attractions of the city, along with maps and brochures.

The cruise AIDAvita, the German company Aida Cruises, is one of the normal vessels calling at the city, this is the second visit of the year (the first was on 20 May), and repeat five times to level final of the year, following on 1 July.

The AIDAvita is the first of five cruise ships that call at the Port of Cartagena and will total more than 4,700 visitors this June.

Among the larger capacity is the Island Escape, Island Company Thomson Cruises, which will stop closing the month on the 27th of June, with more than 1,500 passengers on board.
