Tips and colors to celebrate the World Environment Day (03/06/2011)

Several school groups have visited the information booths and participated in activities that are performed on the esplanade of the dock, as the creation of a comic painting the recycling bins with their corresponding color

Cartagena celebrates today, Friday 3 June, World Environment Day with a festive day in the courtyard of Pier Alfonso XII, organized by the Club EMAS Murcia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs, the Autonomous Community Murcia Region and the city of Cartagena.

Councilman Sustainable Development acting, Isaias Camarzana, has attended the official opening of the stands, accompanying President EMAS Club Murcia, Rafael Cano.

Several school groups have been the first to travel the ten stands where they have been receiving tips on caring for the environment.

The smallest have participated in the creation of a comic with the slogan Color your environment in which to test your knowledge, have painted each container with its corresponding color, according to separate glass, plastic, paper, cardboard and organic waste.

And you do you know the colors?, Will be asked to make their parents to get home.

The goal, as explained by the EMAS club president, Rafael Cano, is to go from an early instilling good environmental behavior, to get so tomorrow's society take these habits of saving and recycling act instinctively.

Young and old have also been known tasks that are becoming increasingly aware, as the recycling of batteries, electrical appliances, lights or even clothing.

Environmental awareness is taken indoors, but also should practice good habits every day, such as cycling and public transport and less polluting.

Thus, we have shown the bike rental facilities and Share Bicity car parking, which conducts the City of Cartagena by the council for Sustainable Development.

In the stands involving ten of the fourteen companies and agencies that are part of EMAS Club Murcia, private non-profit organization formed by these entities have in common the desire to improve the environment.

EMAS registration is proving the environmental excellence of a company that owns it, and that means a commitment to environmental laws and transparency in environmental management, explained Rafael Cano.

The stands in which they participate: Club EMAS Murcia, Cartagena Port Authority, Cartago Marpol SL-, phosphate Cartagena (ERCROS) Trimtor Company SA; Inaqua (Water Engineering), Scrapping and SL Cranes Paris: Ministry of Agriculture and Water, Ministry of Universities, Business and Research, Directorate General of Industry, Energy and Mines, City of Cartagena.

The booths will remain open until noon and all afternoon at approximately 19.00 hours.
