The art of young artists has his appointment with Mucho Mas Mayo Cartagena (04/05/2011)

Much More May, the Youth Talent Festival organized by the municipality of Cartagena each May in its sixth edition, to be held the week of 9 to 15 May using, such as house brands, the public spaces city ​​to showcase the work of the artists participating in this meeting. A total of 80 activities make up the program in 2011, has been significantly reduced its budget.

At dozens of young artists selected through an open call (which were chosen by a professional jury 23 artistic projects), established names are added as guests participating in the various sections of the festival.

Thus, your program can find the graffiti Suso33, novelist Salmon Ricardo Menéndez, Barcelona duo The Pinker Tones, Los Planetas Dj Set, or artists like Eduardo Cortils, German Thomas Engelbert, or the collective Basurama.

Among the regular sections of the festival to be held this year is the Art Fair IV Hotel, converting the top floor (10 rooms with terraces) of the NH in an art room, with the participation of galleries from various regions, the sixth week short sample of the festival films (21 films selected also by invitation), which are projected in a central square, the section of urban culture Urban One World, which this year will feature artists from the Art Street Suso33 size, the Pixel Pancho Italian, Bulgarian Firebirth or Kraser and Poli124 Cartagena, and a rap concert and a second edition of Beat Day, live event producer and beatmaker.

The festival pays special attention to relations with students of the city through the Festival of Students, which allows artists to have their work in secondary schools in the municipality and that students visit the facilities of the festival, and develop arts projects from the schools.

This year also will be held on I MercaArte Young, a street market of artistic creations by children under 35 years and may be bought and sold.

Finally, the festival has a training program with 7 workshops, four of them grouped in the Culinary Project 2011, art and cooking workshops conducted in collaboration with the School of Hospitality and Tourism Cartagena.

Finally, the Festival will close its program incorporating the Third Night of the Museums of Cartagena, which has become in just three years in the business most anticipated and most popular track: 13 museum spaces (museums of national importance of Underwater Archaeology - ARQUA-or Roman Theatre Museum, among many others) and 25 cultural proposals are offered free to citizens who can visit museums free of the city at night (from 21.00 pm to 2 am).

Last year local museums counted more than 26,000 controlled entries, representing a success in a city of 215,000 inhabitants.
