City Council and unions sign social peace until 2015 (25/03/2011)

The Governing Board approved at its meeting this morning, the Agreement on Working Conditions for the personnel and the Collective Agreement for the City workforce, both of which have been agreed at the negotiating table and signed City of Cartagena also this morning, Councillor of Finance and Personnel, José Cabezas, and representatives of CCOO, CSIF and SIME, which represent 70 percent of the nearly 1,500 municipal employees.

BETTER ORGANIZATION OF SERVICES

UNION DEMANDS WITH FIVE ANNEXES

The agreement also includes five annexes, in the form of regulations governing various union demands:

A dress code for personnel who must wear uniforms.

An annex to the special situation of second job, for those employees belonging to templates of firefighters, police offices or brigades, which reduced psycho-physical skills, can not perform the functions formerly performed.

A Working Exchange Regulations in order to organize existing waiting lists, where appropriate, or calls for temporary contracts if necessary go to them.

An Annex of Civil Service and Career Development, which has established the basic approaches and principles for the promotion of civil servants through training, performance evaluation, and course of years, and that after the signing of this Agreement, will continue with subsequent negotiating the end to define the purpose of its implementation by mid 2015.

Personal Councilman highlighted the efforts of assignment have the two parties: City and unions, to have some agreements in force until July 31, 2015, and on which further work is needed.

Finally, publicly thanked the CCOO union representation, SIME, and CSIF, the signatories of these agreements, the work and efforts and concessions that the best interests of all workers have developed, not understanding the reasons for which UGT has not signed.
