Izquierda Unida has defended today in the Congress of Deputies a bill proposed by the Catalan nationalists calling for a special regime for the city of Barcelona has a specific involvement in income tax, VAT and excise duties.

"That's the initiative that criticizes Moltó Cayetano Cartagena Mayor not voting," said municipal spokesman of the PP group, Joaquín Segado.

The spokesman stressed that "Molto Cayetano has built an extensive press release from the mayor and deputy national Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, drawing several lies and errors in reference to local funding initiatives voted this morning in Congress."

Molto Barreiro asked for explanations about an alleged vote against a proposed UI, also allegedly had received the vote of other formations.

But it is a lie that the PP voted against.

The PP in that effort failed because the group had a better one.

Initiative is a lie that UI was "approved by the other groups."

In reality it was only passed by the Catalan nationalist party because Moltó bowed to accept an amendment calling for the city of Barcelona enjoy genuine participation in the Income Tax VAT and excise duties.

"That is what the party voted Molto, Barcelona exclusive arrangements proposed by the Catalan nationalists, as reported Segado.

It was the People's Party which filed a motion with emergency and structural measures against the economic strangulation of all local authorities were Spanish and nationalist members of Izquierda Unida those who voted against Segado has said that "instead of asking for explanations without foundation, Molto could explain what his party again sided with the nationalists, thus clarify who are the real slavish in this story. "

Popular group had presented an initiative that called for postponing the return to the state by municipalities until the entry into force of a new funding model.

Also called for more flexible borrowing capacity, opening a credit line ICO for local authorities and the implementation of structural measures to improve the system of municipal finance, including a review of the tax system.

All these proposals are in line with the demands of the Federation of Municipalities and Provinces.
