The Department of Social Services of the City of Cartagena, has organized a great celebration of Carnival for the Elderly, to be held on Friday 4 March and is expected to have about three hundred thousand people.

This year is devoted to sports, so all the groups will represent different aspects of this specialty.

We must remember that during the months of January and February have been developed Carnival Workshops Miranda, San Ana, Cuesta Blanca, Marfagones Molinos, San José Obrero, La Aljorra, Los Belones, La Manga, San Ginés, Virgin of Charity and La Palma, including development of costumes and accessories, in addition to rehearsing dance and choreography.

The celebration of Carnival, to be held in the Municipal Pavilion Jiménez de la Espada after 17.00 hours, will be opened by Councillor Social Care, Antonio Calderon.

Then act from the groups registered neighborhoods and parade above the candidates for Queen of Carnival.

Also held the massive Piñata dance and musical performance of all direct Duo.

Following the election of Reina y Damas, will be crowned Queen of Carnival for the Elderly.

The event will end with the awards to the groups involved.

The jury will be composed of members of the municipal corporation, municipal technicians, the chairman of the Committee of Carnival and Queen of Carnival 2011.

Already on March 5, the major part in the Carnival Cartagena, together with the carriage that carried the Queen and her two ladies.
