The recklessness, the main cause of the accident in our town (01/03/2011)

The report of 2010 prepared by the local police shows a significant decrease in the number of claims, a trend that has been suggested in the past four years thanks to improvements in signage and road infrastructure and campaigns to re-educate drivers

Those responsible for road safety in Cartagena, such as Councillor for Citizen Security, Javier Herrero, Director General of Security, Carlos Nieto, and Chief Inspector of Local Police, Manuel Asensio, today presented the Report of Accident, 2010 a report that could indicate a slight decrease in accidents on roads in the municipality and recklessness, as the main cause of accidents.

This decline, according to Smith, is the result of the improvements we have carried out regarding the signage, road infrastructure, as well as multiple re-education campaigns aimed at drivers, such as seat belt use and revision of tires and continuous sobriety checkpoints, speed and documentation.

In total, there were 2,295 accidents last year in our town, in which there were 31 serious injuries, 709 minor injuries and 4 deaths (three pedestrians and a motorcycle through), only one more than in the previous year.

These figures are lower than those recorded in 2009, 2,302 accidents in which there were 64 serious injuries and 733 minor injuries.

These data imply, for 2009, down nearly 7% in terms of the number of accidents.

Therefore, the accident in the town has fallen for the fourth consecutive year, resulting in a 50% reduction in the number of deaths for the year 2006 and a 32.4% reduction in the number of accidents injury resulting in a total of 56 accidents less, compared with 2009.

The report also shows that the main cause of accidents on our roads is due to negligence on the part of drivers, closely followed by not respecting the priority and not keeping a safe distance.

As to when accidents occur during the weekends down the number of casualties as a result of low activity of the city, rising in the summer months due to increased travel for the summer holidays.

While there is talk of black dots, if there is accident concentration sections, which coincide with the busiest routes with high traffic density such as the Paseo Alfonso XIII and Gran Vía de La Manga, this summer, and some of the main roundabouts and roundabouts of the city, such as Severo Ochoa, the confluence of Alfonso XIII Ã ngel roundabout Bruna and Jorge Juan Fernández Juan.

MULTIPLY BY 9 ALCOHOL TESTING

The development of breath tests conducted by the local police has been increasing until 2010, when 17,944 tests were performed, more than 13,045 tests in 2009.

This increase is due, firstly, the Road Safety Campaign of the Traffic Department, which joined the city of Cartagena, and on the other hand, the increase in the number of checks carried out on its own initiative Local Police force of Cartagena.

LESS CRIME FOR DRIVING WITHOUT MEAT ‰

Finally, the Report of Accident, 2010, it is noteworthy that denotes a significant reduction in crime due to lack of license.

This is a reduction of 119 crimes of this kind, with respect to 2009, where he conducted 282 performances.

The reform legislation in the Traffic and Road Safety, which currently defines the former as driver's licenses Driver's Permit Class AM, is the main cause of this reduction in the number of crimes.
