DEVELOPMENT OF THE TRAIL

From the charming village of Los Baños de Mula, End of the road, but is planned to extend it 10 miles closer to Campos del Río.

The route starts at just over a kilometer from the village at the foot of the ruins of the old station, next to which it has created a small seating area.

Soon, road and Caravaca, we find the first major viaduct: 200 m.

length flying high over the Rambla Perea.

After crossing the road C-415 (our partner travel the entire route) with special caution.

After the road is the Station of La Puebla de Mula (Km.3).

On the other side for another spectacular viaduct crossed the River Mula.

We went through a particularly barren landscape with no vegetation and a very chalky soil gully by the few but torrential rainfall.

This contrasts with the white arid valley floor, covered with green gardens drained by the river Mula.

After 5 miles, arrived at the entrance of Mula.

From here the road C-415 has used the old railway as a support for a bypass.

by a variant of the Greenway traced in effect through the industrial estate (Eye to cross!).

Nearby are the homes of Mula.En 8.4 Km along the road back on the original route of the railway, climbing to the Sanctuary of El Niño.

The recovery of the railway line has been impossible and the Greenway uses some rural roads, with occasional steep slope, lead us to the old station of El Niño.

At Km 10 starts through several tunnels (between 60 and 200 m long).

After the first two, the landscape makes an abrupt change: we enter into lands populated by pine trees, scrub, interspersed with farms filled with almond and other fruit trees that slip between the irrigation canals of the river Mula.

After two new tunnels (200 m and 100 m respectively) is reached Apeadero de La Luz (km 17.4), the prelude to another great viaduct of eight arches, the Mule, which puts us at the door the highest point of travel, Bullas (630 m).

- During the tour there will be points for supplies and support vehicle .- The food will be approx.

at 14:30

at the restaurant Casa Paco, Niño de Mula (15 euros) - After lunch we have free time you can visit the Sanctuary of El Niño.

- The return approximately at 18:00 h.
