The young Norwegian exchange with Jiménez de la Espada, delighted with Cartagena (26/01/2011)

They are a group of 21 students who are in the city sharing experiences with students and visiting Cartagena landmarks like the Palace Hall, where today I received the Youth Councillor

Youth Councillor, Ruth Collins, received this morning at the downtown high school students Bjorgvin videregÃ¥ende Skole Bergen (Norway), which are in Cartagena exchange with students of IES Jiménez de la Espada.

It is the fourth consecutive year that the school is visited Cartagena Norwegian students coming from this center.

The group is composed of 21 high school students and two faculty members, who for a week (from 22 to 29 January) are living together in houses with students and teachers of Jiménez.

Also integrated into the activities of the institute, both students and teachers are aware of the surrounding city, visited also the most representative of the city of Murcia and perform outdoor activities in the Mar Menor.

Monday had the opportunity to visit the Regional Assembly, where they were very concerned with the functioning of this institution.

Then, with the help of European volunteers, visited all the offices of the Department of Youth.

In today's agenda are a visit to the Teatro Romano, the archetype and the Palace Hall, and tomorrow will see the mining park of La Union, with tour inside the mine Groups Vicenta.

This exchange is part of the program of activities that Section bilingual English Department of the Institute organizes, and aims at cultural exchange, providing the approach to Europe and, especially, language practice, as students Norwegians high proficiency in English and Spanish are also students.

In the third quarter of the year, from April 30 to May 7, 1921 Spanish students returned the visit to the Norwegian city of Bergen.

It so happens that both centers are also developing the Comenius project Women in Our Culture, so some of the students (Norwegian and Spanish) and have worked together in this school.
