Four homes rehabilitated in The Straits available to families in need (19/01/2011)

The mayor has visited the homes, in addition to the 33 that currently manages the council of Social Services, and then shifted to local social Strait and The Beal refurbished with an investment of more than 172,000 euros

The mayor of Cartagena, Pilar Barreiro, along with members of the Municipal Corporation, visited this morning a group of four houses located in the Strait of San Ginés, which have been restored for social uses, such as rooms for families with few resources.

The visit has come from Flanders Street, behind the school in the Strait, and completed a tour of the area where residences are located.

This is a total of four homes that were obsolete and were transferred by the Department of Education to Social Care for rehabilitation, adding to a total of 33 houses available for social services to meet the specific needs of families requiring housing, as explained by the mayor.

Pilar Barreiro has also stated that the families occupying these homes do not enjoy a property award but will have a lease for a specified period, and that the council reserves the right to inspect the house every so often to be in good condition and not damaged.

Housing arrangements have been carried out by the Ministry of Public Works and Regional Planning with an investment of 172,980 euros in subsidies in 2009 for the repair of municipal buildings.

In addition to the alcaldesam Pilar Barreiro, on the visit have been present councilors Social Care, Antonio Calderon, of Education, Joseph Marotta, Decentralization, Nicholas Angel Berna l and Sustainable Development of the City of Cartagena, Isaiah Camarzana also Managing Director of the Institute for Housing and Land in the Region of Murcia, Jane Brown.

The homes are located in a building with two floors and consists of 3 bedrooms, bathroom, living room with balcony, kitchen and utility.

LOCAL IMPROVEMENT OF SOCIAL AND BEAL STRAIT

After visiting the rehabilitated units, the mayor, along with the councilors of the Municipal Corporation, have shifted to social Ocales l Strait of San Ginés and The Beal, both of which have been recently remodeled.
