Virtual reality to the public about what life was the necropolis in the IV and V (21/12/2010)

View a funeral banquet or discover how our ancestors worked in a burial is now possible thanks to new digital technology applications to the world of museology.

With the initiative a sale at the past, the Archaeological Museum of Cartagena has become the first museum in Spain to offer an interactive viewer that uses virtual reality to reconstruct digitally enhanced an archaeological site.

This morning, the Councillor for Culture, Rosario Montero, accompanied by the Director General of Telecommunications and Information Society, Pedro García Diego, presented the results of this pioneering initiative in Spain and developed jointly by both institutions.

Rosario Montero stressed that this re-enables the cemetery is accessible to all audiences because many times the problem of deposits is their interpretation difficult, and now will be much more didactic and educational for young and easier to understand for the elderly .

The councilor also recalled that Cartagena is a benchmark in terms of applications of new technologies and heritage conservation.
