Desert XXV International Poetry Prize Antonio Oliver Belmas (25/11/2010)

The Jury of the International Poetry Belmas Antonio Oliver has not awarded the prize, after reviewing the original 156 XXV conncurrían this issue.

The ruling, read by Miguel Navarro Salinas, director of the People's University of the City of Cartagena, which together with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, was made public in the early hours of the night in a ceremony held at the Palace Conistorial of Cartagena.

The evening began with a performance by singer Salvador Salas and guitarist Antonio Munar Piñana Calderón, flamenco workshop of the People's University of Cartagena.

This was followed by a reading of poems by Vicente Gallego, in honor and memory of Michelangelo Velasco, who died recently and winner of the XXII edition in 2007 with the work report of Trasluz.

Blanca Andreu then presented the winning of the XXIV edition of the House of Condescension Costa Rican poet José María Zonta.

Hundreds of poetic voices have participated over the 25 years of existence of this international award, the first prize is worth 12,000 euros and publication of the work.

In each edition attend around 150 poems, with an international contribution by 20 percent, mostly across the Atlantic.

The jury was composed of Blanca Andreu, Eloy Sánchez Rosillo, Salvador García Jiménez, Luis Alberto de Cuenca and Vincent Gallo.

In the presidency of the event were the Director General of Promotion of Culture and the Book, Francisco Giménez, the councilor of the City of Cartagena Culture, Rosario Montero, director of issues and the Three Borders (Regional Editor), José Antonio Bascuñana.
