Cartagena city buses earn 300,000 travelers in the first eight months of this year (17/09/2010)

The number of travelers who made use of city buses in Cartagena has increased by about 300,000 passengers this year, according to data from the statistics comparing the first eight months of 2009 and 2010.

This figure represents an increase of 9.11 percent, which contrasts with the downward trend in the use of urban transport in the whole of Spain which, according to data released by the National Statistics Institute (INE) in July had fallen by more than 3 percent.

In addition, increased

more significant is perceived in the sale of bonobos, between 5 and 10 percent, as well as transfers, which have gained boom, with an increase between 20 to 25 percent.

For lines, which together have more travelers this year have been iCUE Bus line 9 (a 43.51% increase), line 3 (a 19.91%), which runs from Plaza Bastarreche the Naval Hospital, and the line 4 (a 16.36 percent) that goes from Quarry Park to Torreciega and Mediterranean.

The Councillor for Infrastructure, José Vicente Albaladejo, was pleased with these results which it considers are the result of the policy pursued by the city of Cartagena to keep prices of bonobos, increase the frequency of passing vehicles and increase the number lines.
