The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, announced today that the Secretary General of Prisons (Home Office) has authorized the use of the facilities of the former prison of San Anton in Cartagena, as one of the venues of the Biennial Contemporary European Art.
The above Biennial will be held in Murcia and Cartagena on 9 October this year until January 9, 2011 and for the same use of that prison was requested by the public via SA Murcia Cultural Foundation Manifesta 8 .
The authorization of use of the old prison is specified that, given that the public interest, the transfer will not involve monetary compensation.
However, SA Cultural Murcia bear the costs of upkeep, maintenance, operation and use - such as water and electricity - during the period of use of property, as well as works that have to do the former.
The General Secretariat, in collaboration with the center of social integration "Guillermo Miranda" - on which depends the CIS use as the former prison of Cartagena - Murcia also allows the entry SA Cultural therein for performing the pre-conditioning works the conclusion of the Biennial.
Once removed it should use moving parts.
